bridgeMy name is So Hyeun “Casey” Cho. I am from Seoul, South Korea and I’ve been studying in the United States for six years. I graduated from State University of New York at Albany (UAlbany) with a journalism major with an International Studies minor in May 2014. I am working toward my goal to become a foreign correspondent covering a range of topics from international affairs to business someday.

I am constantly looking for opportunities to write and to learn in different field of studies. I gained working experience as an intern at Arirang TV, the largest English-speaking broadcasting station in South Korea and as an English instructor in Qingdao, China, when I took a year off from school between my sophomore and junior years.

When I transferred to UAlbany, I was involved in Albany Student Television (ATV) and Albany Student Press (ASP) newspaper. I am familiar with Radio and Television broadcasting, and print and digital media publishing.

In my senior year at UAlbany, I worked for Albany Times Union as an intern at Features and Interactive Media Desk. Also, I wrote for their blog “This is College!?” If you are interested in checking my sample writings, go to http://blog.timesunion.com/college/tag/casey-cho/ or my online resume.

I moved to my dream city Manhattan in June, and I am starting my first job at The Korea Daily (미주 중앙일보) on July 1, 2014. I can’t describe enough how excited I am to have this opportunity after my undergraduate education. So far, I am almost living in a dream.
